IDDS participants and community members designed a series of simple exercises for villagers emphasizing adults. They created basic exercise equipment using local bamboo to supplement the exercises. Their project was rapidly taken up by local villagers who had wanted to establish similar initiatives, working with the team to establish a health club who meets daily to lead each other in different exercises. This is particularly useful since diabetes and hypertension are common health problems for villagers, but there are few health promotion strategies currently being implemented.
This report was created by a team of participants at IDDS Sisaket. It aims to share information and knowledge gleaned from the team’s work during the summit.
